| We bought the system before Christmas and it took no time to set up. We spent the month of January on vacation and are able to check the house and the weather to see that all is well. They just improved the web page yesterday and the quality of pictures is much better. I will buy more cameras when I get home! |
Great product, does exactly what it says

We use this camera system for our summer home in the interior British Columbia, Canada as well as our main home in Canada. The product works great, simple to setup and battery life is what it says it is...
We are expanding the coverage for the summer home and will also be installing this for our condo in Mexico when I go back down in May...
We access the camera's through the web site but also use the iPhone application which works great, even on 3G (non-wifi) connections. Gives me the piece of mind and provides a backup to the security system.
If you are looking for a continuos camera solution, this is not it, but if you are wanting a product so that you can periodically check on summer homes etc, this is it...
Would love to see a weatherproof/secure enclosure for the camera.... Any idea's would be great... |

| I just received and setup my third camera to add to my Avaak Vue system. You install the battery, sit the camera next to the Avaak gateway adapter, press the sync button on the adapter and wait a few seconds till the sync light goes out and you are all set. These cameras are small and can be hidden in some very inconspicuous places. They are not night cameras, but they do function well in a 20 x 20 room with a 11 watt power saver lamp. These cameras with a good security system like the SKYLINK or Smarthome wireless system is fantastic! I have had no problems connecting in to see my cameras from anywhere, at work, on the commuter train etc. Some good advice is to check the firmware update with the settings tab on the webpage. Very easy to do. You can also check the battery level of each camera, very cool! Look at the Avaak vue sample pics on the Amazon page, you can judge the quality. Also Avaak has a sample site where you can view the Caifornia Shore. Its at [...] Enjoy! Love this product. |
The cameras are totally wireless, love it

I have used IP cameras in the past and got discouraged when 1) my Internet provider starting blocking ports and 2) when my wife started complaining about all the wires hanging off of the walls or collecting on the floor. I was skeptical when I heard about the Avaak Vue and read some reviews, but the fact, that the tiny cameras (another positive!) are completely wireless made me hit the "buy" button, anyway. The set-up is extremely simple. Just about anybody could do it. From unpacking, to setting-up and synching to viewing cameras on the web page took less than 5 minutes. And, wait, that is not all, because being able to view the video on my iPhone is an extra, great benefit.
Hopefully, Avaak will publish a true iPad app, soon. In a nutshell, I am going to buy additional cameras. |
Product with great potential.

| The Vue cameras are small and inconspicuous and are extremely easy to setup. The web interface is intuitive and easy to use. However, picture quality from these cameras is extremely poor and connectivity is intermittent. |
